CONDUCTOR BIOGRAPHY

Conductor: Myron Buczok

Myroslav Buczok was born in Nottingham of Ukrainian parents. His own choir 'Boyan', has performed in Brussels, Rotterdam and Munich. Myroslav has appeared at the Royal Albert Hall in London and at St Peter's Basilica before his Holiness Pope John Paul II. As the principal conductor, he brings his extensive experience to the BULAVA chorus particularly excelling as an 'interpreter' of Slavic liturgical works.


Conductor: Stefan Hunka

Stefan is, like Pavlo his brother, a lawyer by profession. He has sung in and conducted Ukrainian male and mixed voice choirs for many years. He has performed in the United Kingdom, Europe and the U.S.A. at venues including The Royal Albert Hall in London, St. Peter's Basilica in Rome and Carnegie Hall, New York. Stefan has an Advanced Diploma in Music from the Welsh College of Music and Drama and has performed leading roles in opera such as Jenik in Smetana's 'The Bartered Bride', Cassio in Verdi's 'Otello' and Rinuccio in Puccini's 'Gianni Schicchi'. He has also played leading roles in productions of Gilbert and Sullivan's 'The Gondoliers', 'Yeomen of the Guard' and 'The Mikado'. His oratorio repertoire includes tenor solo performances in Handel's 'Messsiah', Mendelssohn's 'Elijah', Puccini's 'Messa di Gloria' and Verdi's 'Requiem'. He is pleased and excited to have returned to his first love, that of choral singing, by joining The Bulava Chorus as soloist and conductor.
