BULAVA is a 45 strong chorus varying in age from 12 to 57. It comprises a male-voice section of 28 men; a ladies section of 16; 2 soprano, 3 tenor and 3 bass soloists, 2 professional pianists, 2 Shakespearean actors; a professional lighting designer; a professional stage director.

THE PROGRAMMES

BULAVA exciting programmes include ‘The Cossacks' – a depiction of the turbulent times of Ukrainian history in the 16th to 18th centuries; ‘Mazepa' – Lord Byron's poem complimented by Ukrainian folk, classical and religious songs.

THE SUCCESSES AND INTERNATIONAL TOURS

BULAVA recent success on stage (Shropshire Star “… they were quite electrifying as only the full throated, open-hearted and barrel-chested resonance of eastern European singers can be…” ) has resulted in a triple invitation to tour Eastern Canada in the autumn of 2006, Western Canada and Northern U.S.A. in subsequent years. In addition, BULAVA has been invited to tour Ukraine.

THE RECORDING

BULAVA will release its first recording in 2004.

THE U.K. APPEARANCES

BULAVA will tour the U.K. in 2005 to present a new programme to its already wide following.
